Development and maintenance of an innovative decision support system (DSS) for integrated weed control (DSS-IWM) in maize and winter wheat: The internet-based decision support system DSS-IWM helps to use herbicides in winter wheat and maize in a more targeted and therefore more efficient manner. This also has positive ecological effects without the farmer having to accept higher risks or treatment costs. The prototype of the DSS-IWM, IPMwise, calculates the application rate for herbicides, which is limited to the required amount, according to the principles of integrated crop protection after the current weeding of an area.
